Position:                                Project Management, Planning and Budget Control Director, Refurbishment

This role will be to support major refurbishment projects at Cernavoda Nuclear Generating Station.

 

This exciting opportunity offers the potential to further develop Kinectrics’ capabilities and expertise in large-scale refurbishment projects, as well as expand the company’s presence in Romania. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring project activities for large refurbishment projects and will interface closely with the client and 3rd party contractors.

 

General Accountabilities

  • Responsible for ensuring the execution of the refurbishment project as planned, within allocated budget and schedule
  • Manage associated project risks
  • Oversee the project management and project support team to deliver project function to program
  • Oversee the installation of project control function making use of available IT infrastructure
  • Approve project execution plan
  • Ensure the elaboration and approval of refurbishment status reports
  • Manage and monitor schedule, budget, quality, profitability, nuclear safety aspects, and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)
  • Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the projects are developed and met
  • Define the tasks and delegate them amongst the project team
  • Empower staff to carry out tasks
  • Liaise with other teams, including Engineering, Procurement, Regulatory and Stakeholder Relations, Finance and Commercial to deliver strategic objectives of the program
  • Determine optimized purchasing strategy for the project
  • Liaise with clients and business partners, if any, and define commercial actions when appropriate

 

Selection Criteria

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, or Social Sciences is required & at least two years of experience in the field of completed studies
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) would be an asset
  • Direct involvement as a Director of PM & budget control in a CANDU Refurbishment Project/Organization
  • 15 years relevant experience, with a minimum of 10 years of experience working with CANDU Nuclear Power Plants
  • Working knowledge of site outage/installation/maintenance of CANDU Nuclear Power Plants
  • Comprehensive understanding of CANDU technology and operations
  • Demonstrated capability to manage and lead
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent client relationships
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and experience in leading technical projects to successful conclusions
  • Experience in interfacing with and coordinating activities of multi-disciplinary teams
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and have demonstrated a high commitment to quality
  • High sense of personal accountability
  • Romanian Language proficiency would be beneficial, but is not a requirement

 

This role requires full-time relocation to Cernavoda, Romania for an extended duration. The successful candidate must have a willingness to relocate to Romania for project execution.
