Currently Kinectrics is developing its business in Romania through Kinectrics Nuclear Romania
(KNR), a company registered under the Romanian legislation delivering consultancy and
engineering services mainly in power generation with a focus on nuclear technologies as applied
at the Cernavoda NPP and, broader, nationally and internationally.
Kinectrics Nuclear Romania is looking for Senior Mechanical Engineer(s) with considerable
experience in design, operating and maintenance of brown filed nuclear and conventional
plants.
The specific accountabilities of the open positions will provide a high level of expertise in one
or more specific areas:
- Equipment design;
- Pressure vessels design;
- Mechanical system design;
- Stress, structural, thermohydraulic analyses;
- Brown field mechanical equipment and components;
- Mechanical codes and standards, such as ASME, B31, etc.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform :
- mechanical design and analysis for nuclear and conventional power plants;
- condition and performance assessments;
- Ensure that all designs are reviewed to the required standards;
- Understand and assess client problems and determine appropriate means of solution;
- Maintain the required technical quality of work for him and the project team under his coordination, if it’s the case;
- Coordinate with the Lead design engineers and all other relevant technical personnel;
- Perform other duties as required, including project Technical Coordination, cost and
schedule control for all work assigned
- Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to the Project Manager
or Lead Mechanical Engineer;
- Attend and contribute in team and project meetings as required;
- Stay updated with developments within the field of expertise;
- Carry out work in accordance with Kinectrics and project Health, Safety, Environmental
and Quality Systems.
Skills / Knowledge required:
- (minimum) Bachelor Degree or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject;
- Dimensioning and designing experience of mechanical components and systems – min.
7 year experience;
- Proven track record in engineering design and analysis in power generation and similar
industrial facilities;
- Ability for hand calculations;
- In depth knowledge of use of appropriate codes and standards;
- Ability to learn new technical concepts and to work under various technical standards;
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary / international teams and demonstrate work and moral
ethics;
- Ability to respect deadlines and achieve targeted results whilst working individually;
- Good communication skills;
- English fluency is a must;
- The following will be considered as an advantage :
- Specializations or training courses in mechanical engineering (including software
- use);
- Experience in performing condition assessments of mechanical equipment;
- Ability to work in an workshare environment;
- Openness to participate in missions related to projects;
- The following will be considered as important differentiators :
- Experience in engineering design and analysis in power generation;
- Nuclear power generation is an additional plus;
- Strong understanding and experience with CANDU nuclear technology;
- Knowledge of the Canadian/US codes and standards;
- Participation from the design phase through the final construction close-out for
- power plants.
Job location:
- Main working offices are in Bucharest and Cernavoda, Romania;
- Local / international missions might be required on project basis.
