Projects & Logistics Manager- HVT Services

About the Job

The Projects & Logistics Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of Engineering Testing Services for clients across North America. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within scope, while managing the logistics of specialized test equipment, and people resources. The Manager acts as the central link between technical teams, operations, clients, and leadership to ensure projects meet cost, quality, and schedule targets

 

Key Responsibilites:

  • Project Planning & Execution
    • Works independently and as part of the HVST team to develop project plans, commissioning schedules, and testing procedures in collaboration with technical teams.
    • Prepare proposals, define project scope, deliverables, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client requirements and organizational objectives.
    • Prepare, implement, and monitor schedules consisting of but not limited to the critical path, cost loading, schedule content, relationships, and logic ties, constraints, and milestones.
    • Apply project management methodologies to manage risk, cost, quality, scope, and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Monitor project performance and provide regular progress reports to clients and internal stakeholders.
    • Ensure staff and customers are provided with timely and accurate project information and status updates.
    • Perform duties required to close all project documentation and archive appropriate records.
  • Logistics & Resource Coordination
    • Manage all logistics for testing services, including equipment rentals, shipping, and transportation of materials to client sites across North America.
    • Ensure test equipment is delivered safely on time, and within allocated budgets.
    • Oversee the coordination and supplier management, including the review of terms, schedules, import and export documentation for equipment. and deliverables.

 

  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring strong ongoing relationships.
    • Conduct client follow-up after project completion to measure satisfaction, capture feedback, and identify opportunities for future work.
    • Collaborate with operations, administration, and sales teams to support proposals, quotations, and business development activities.
  • Commercial & Financial Oversight
    • Prepare, track, and manage purchase orders, subcontracts, and client invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Support the development of technical quotations and detailed cost estimates for service and non-service projects.
    • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, escalating variances as required.
  • Quality, Safety & Continuous Improvement
    • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards across all project and logistics activities.
    • Hold safety meetings, document and share lessons learned, project operational experience (OPEX), and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
    • Identify process improvements in both logistics and project delivery to enhance efficiency and reliability.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical field.
  • Proven project management experience on complex engineering projects, ideally within the utility or energy sector.
  • Experience/understanding of  electrical technical inspections and test instrumentation specification/integration.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and scopes of work; proficiency with AutoCAD 2D/3D is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare technical specifications, test procedures, and cost estimates.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Demonstrated project management skills such as time management, risk management, cost control, action oriented, planning and scheduling, escalation, delegation, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal, client relationship, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar project management tools preferred.
