Laboratory Assistant
Location: ArcWear Division – Louisville, KY
As Laboratory Assistant you will work alongside of team members on client projects involving a variety of textile and (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment/Gear used in various industries. Testing methods, primarily focusing on heat, thermal, and physical protection.
Qualifications/Requirements:
H.S. diploma required. Some science related college coursework preferred.
4+ years of prior work experience with 2+related practical work experience.
Experience working in or having completed coursework involving the use of good aboratory practices is a plus.
Strong attention to detail is a must.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
The ability to effectively speak and write in clear, concise manner.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e. without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future)
What will you be doing?
On a daily basis you will work with various textile specimens, preparing, conditioning, and testing items using prescribed protocols and procedures.
Standard testing methods include abrasion testing, cut testing, wash/dry cycle testing, and heat and flammability testing, and other established testing protocols.
Must be able to follow detailed instructions to produce reliable, precise data and accurate records.
Preparing shipments for specimen return to client.
Assisting with special research projects as needed.
Other tasks as assigned.
