Exciting opportunity to join the growing team at the Kinectrics Arcwear Division in Louisville, KY.  Working closely with our Corporate IT staff based in Torornto, Canada., this newly created position will support both the Louisville,KY facility and other U.S Operations. 

General Overview

The Systems Administrator will be primarily responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and improving the availability, scalability and performance of Information Technology infrastructure for the Louisville, KY location. Reporting to the Director IT  (based in Toronto, Canada), the Systems Administrator will be in charge of server infrastructure and applications, assisting other administrators with VM Ware and Linux administration; analyze production systems to identify performance bottlenecks, optimization opportunities and will support internal users while working closely with other IT staff and company employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Provision infrastructure solutions from initial architecture and design through development, testing, and deployment ensuring resilient, secure, and efficient infrastructure operations.
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers and applications in physical, virtual and cloud environments across multiple locations.
  • Manage, configure, and support Windows Server operating systems, Microsoft Office 365 applications, IIS, MS SQL and Active Directory.
  • Assist other team administrators in deployment and management of VMWare solutions and storage infrastructure
  • Automate tasks and activities by scripting and programming (e.g. PowerShell, Visual Basic, C#, etc)
  • Maintain infrastructure information security, data integrity and access procedures as per corporate security policy
  • Work with other administrators to deploy and apply OS/applications patches and updates for workstations and servers using automated process
  • Proactively monitor, identify and manage systems and services resources; respond to system/service failures and problems. Analyze incidents and issues, identify risks, provide recommendations, and implement solutions to reduce user impact and ensure business continuity.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, standards and policies and assist in the training of other resources as required. Provide technical guidance and leadership for any change management activities.
  • Assist in development and implementation of backup and disaster recovery strategy for all systems. Maintain a DR plan and participate in periodic testing of that plan.
  • Assists team members and other departments with testing new technologies and solutions. Lead and/or participate in the projects with other teams to design and deploy technical solutions to improve business operations.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshoot user issues related to servers, data and applications, etc.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • College Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in designing and implementing infrastructure systems in physical and virtual environments such as VM Ware for medium and large enterprises.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Windows Server, Microsoft SQL databases and IIS.
  • 5+  years of practical hands-on experience working with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Windows Security, deployment services, DFS and other Microsoft infrastructure services
  • 3+  years of experience with implementing solutions Azure and Office 365 environments,
  • In-depth practical knowledge of VMWare virtualization technology and virtual desktop infrastructure.
  • 5+  years of practical experience working with PowerShell, Bash or other scripting languages.
  • Practical hands-on experience with IAM/SSO, integration to AD, SAML, MFA, centralized authentication, authorization, access management, password management.
  • Strong understanding of backup and recovery processes and applications. Experience with Veeam in a multi-site environment.
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of IT security best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technology problems.
  • Superior documentation and organization skills, strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks and work effectively with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate complex ideas to a variety of audiences.
