Testing Specialist-Personal Protective Equipment

Location: ArcWear Division – Louisville, KY

 

About the Job

As PPE Testing Specialist you will work with a team of Laboratory Assistants and Technicians on client projects involving a variety of PPE testing methods, primarily focusing on Protective Helmets and Footwear for flame, thermal, and physical protection. The PPE Testing Specialist will serve as a leader to the team focused on Protective Helmet and Footwear testing.  Successful candidates will be presented with an opportunity to grow into broader responsibilities beyond the testing lab.   

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Textiles or Textile Engineering is Preferred (or related technical/scientific field).
  • 3-5 years of related practical work experience.
  • Experience in an ISO 17025-accredited testing laboratory is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail is a must.
  • Familiarity with testing of helmet and/or footwear is a plus.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e. without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future) .

Primary Responsibilities May Include:

  • Directing testing programs for Helmet and Footwear Testing.
  • Managing sample inventory and project tracking programs.
  • Managing equipment maintenance for Helmet and Footwear Testing labs.
  • Preparing, conditioning, and testing various types of PPE specimens.
  • Performing standardized testing as needed.
  • Preparing shipments.
  • Actively works within the ArcWear/Kinectrics Quality Management System to produce reliable, precise data and maintain accurate records.
  • Assisting with special research projects as needed.
  • Some Project Management tasks may be assigned.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
