About the Job
The Electrical I&C Supervisor will be a key leader within the Electrical and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineering Team, providing supervision, technical oversight, and coordination for electrical and I&C engineering projects supporting nuclear power generation facilities. This role will ensure the delivery of high-quality designs, compliance with industry standards, and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clients. The supervisor will also mentor engineering staff and provide strategic guidance for project execution and technical development.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor a team of electrical and I&C engineers and designers at varying levels of experience.
- Coordinate, assign, and monitor project work to meet scope, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Evaluate staff performance and recommend development or training opportunities to enhance technical capability and career growth.
- Define project scope and methodology; allocate staff and resources appropriately.
- Provide technical leadership and review complex electrical and I&C system designs, calculations, and deliverables.
- Engage clients to identify design inputs, clarify scope, and support project planning and execution.
- Oversee preparation of design documentation, including wiring diagrams, schematics, logic diagrams, control system specifications, and material requisitions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (IEEE, NEC, IEC, ISA, NFPA, NRC) and company quality management procedures.
- Support proposal development and contribute to technical sections of bids and estimates.
- Apply sound engineering judgment to resolve complex technical issues and provide practical, cost-effective solutions.
Promote collaboration across disciplines and effective communication with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in electrical or I&C engineering, design, and analysis, preferably within the nuclear or power generation industry.
- Prior experience in a consulting engineering environment is highly desirable.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license strongly preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical distribution systems, control systems, instrumentation, relay protection, and automation.
- Proficiency in electrical and I&C design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, PLC programming, MathCAD).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical staff.
- Sound business judgment and the ability to make effective technical and managerial decisions.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management tools.
- Occasional to moderate travel may be required.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States.
