The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day QA activities for the business as delegated by the Kinectrics Quality Manager and supports the Kinectrics Quality Manager in execution of the Kinectrics QA program. Scope of services includes design engineering, project management & controls, engineering software qualification, and procurement. This role will also oversee implementation of Human Performance at Kinectrics AES.

General Accountabilities

  • Undertake QA activities as defined in quality procedures as delegated by the Quality Manager for Kinectrics - AES.
  • Respond to corrective action requests from customers.
  • Review internally identified nonconformances and corrective actions for compliance with the Kinectrics QA program.
  • Follow-up with the completion of corrective actions.
  • Assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Undertake and/or support causal analyses.
  • Support procurement processes, as required.
  • Lead or assist in internal quality audits.
  • Lead external quality audits, surveys and source surveillance of vendors. This may require travel internationally.
  • Host customer and other third-party quality audits, as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in Kinectrics’ QA process.
  • Monitor to ensure that changes to QA processes are implemented.
  • Provide quality assurance training to Kinectrics personnel as needed.
  • Provide information on QA to support proposal preparation.
  • Liaise with Kinectrics management, project personnel, customers, other Kinectrics QA team members, and certification bodies on QA related activities.
  • Review changes to procedures, instructions, guides, etc. to confirm continued compliance with QA requirements.
  • Field inquiries on quality requirements and codes, including CSA N299, CSA N285, CSA N286, ISO 9001, ASME NQA-1, and 10 CFR50 Appendix B.
  • Field general quality assurance inquiries from staff.
  • Facilitate the Kinectrics AES Corrective Action Review Board, and weekly Quality Nonconformance Report review meeting, including preparation and distribution of meeting material and actions, and facilitation of meetings.
  • Promote the Corrective Action Program and serve as an ambassador for continuous learning. Support communications related to quality including QA Insights, Lessons Learned, Rapid Learnings and Traffic Lights. Work with other Kinectrics departments to share and implement best practices and lessons learned.
  • Proactive monitor quality metrics to identify trends and drive corrective action
  • Serve as the HU Advocate for Kinectrics AES
  • Oversee development and implementation of the HU Plan for Kinectrics AES
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education / Experience / Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline or related field of study.
  • Experience of at least 6 years is considered necessary for this position.
  • Familiarity with QA and Operations at Kinectrics-AES.
  • In depth working knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
  • In depth working experience with nuclear quality standards, in particular ASME NQA-1, and 10 CFR50 Appendix B, but also CSA N299, CSA Z299, CSA N285, CSA N286, ISO 9001.
  • Experience or involvement with quality audits.
  • Working experience with the qualification of software used for nuclear safety related applications.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team situation with technical and engineering staff andcustomers.
  • Very detail oriented, excellent problem-solving, written, technical, non-technical and verbalcommunications skills.
  • Comfort with speaking to large groups.
