About the Job
The Pipe Stress Analysis Supervisor is responsible for producing high-quality engineering services and deliverables through leadership, mentoring, and training of engineers and technical staff on the Civil/Piping team. As a key business leader, this person will provide appropriate design results and responsiveness to clients through excellence in decision making and judgment.

Major Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of Civil/Mechanical Piping engineers and designers through hiring, mentoring, and development of direct reports.
  • Prioritize project work and deliverables within a team of engineers and designers.
  • Assign project tasks to appropriate individuals within the team.
  • Manage performance of direct reports.
  • Assume the project manager role on assigned projects.
  • Collaborate to develop project and construction cost estimates.
  • Recognize business development opportunities and provide input for pursuing the opportunity.
  • Interact with clients, engineers, designers, and general office personnel on a regular basis.
  • Prepare written engineering reports or recommendations.
  • Develop engineering documents either independently or closely with others (clients, engineers, and other professionals) in a team environment.
  • Works with project groups as an expert technical advisor on designs, processes and engineering methods.
  • Establishes scope of work for specific project or proposal and directs staff.
  • Develops procedures, methods and controls to be used.
  • Directs scheduling, cost control and technical conformance during design phase of projects.
  • Coordinates activities with other groups and clients.
  • Recognized by customer as the lead technical project interface. 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural and/or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • PE, SE, or PMP preferred (licensed in any state).
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive engineering or project management experience with commercial, industrial or government clients.
  • 2+ years of progressively responsible commercial nuclear experience in analysis, or engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience successfully leading individuals or teams.
  • Prior experience in consulting engineering environment is highly desirable.
  • Must be familiar with applicable codes and standards: ASME B&PV, B31 series, piping specifications.
  • Proficient with engineering/design software such as AutoPipe, ME-101, AutoCAD, ANSYS, etc.
  • Proficient in piping analysis, normal, thermal, dynamic, vibration.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all stakeholders.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e. without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future).
