Finance Analyst (Cost & Scheduling)

General Accountabilities

Update, track, monitor and analyze specified projects for cost and schedule performance.  Identify performance variances regarding actual versus planned results.  Participate in developing department specific reports that facilitate the two-way flow of cost and schedule performance information.

General Duties:

• Develop and maintain models related to cost performance

• Development, tracking, analysis, updating and evaluations of weekly reports

• Ensure the accuracy of project cost planning and identify areas of risk

• Coordination of weekly/monthly management business reports in a timely manner

• Prepare, implement and monitor scopes of work and prepare Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for control and integrity

• Prepare, implement and monitor costs and update dashboards for both internal stakeholders and customer reports

• Retain historical information for cost impact analysis for future work.

• Analyze data to ensure consistency with company procedures and strategies.

• Review cost control and financial reporting procedures, assess their effectiveness and recommend changes or improvements as necessary.

• Assist in month end/year end closing work.

• Assist in the preparation of department budget and forecasting, gathering departmental data, assessing the validity and reporting into appropriate formats.

• Provide advice, guidance, recommendations and assistance to line staff and management in assessing

projects, reporting, cost benefit analysis, and cost allocation.

• Perform other duties as required.

Selection Criteria

• An undergraduate degree in the appropriate field (business administration, finance, or accounting) or equivalent.

• 5+ years related experience in cost analysis

• Advanced Excel skills

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communications skills

• Extensive SAP knowledge and experience 

• Extreme attention to detail

• Familiarity with aspects of work programs and projects associated with cost engineering, work planning and project performance analysis
