Position: Tendering Engineer - Europe

Kinectrics is recruiting a Tendering Engineer to support the HVT team in Germany.
Role Profile
The Tendering Engineer is responsible for developing a tendering portfolio across a wide range of High Voltage activities delivered by Kinectrics in Europe.
The incumbent will be responsible for the preparation of tenders for our clients in Germany and other European countries for high voltage cable testing, for both AC and DC cable systems. This will involve liaising with the technical HV experts and the project management team ensuring competitive and compliant proposals.
General Accountabilities
- Be the lead on new opportunities for the High Voltage Testing and Asset Management Consultancy of projects ranging from £15K to £2M.
- Work in conjunction with our Kinectrics Global services to provide the optimum tender on time and within our clients budget.
- Evaluate value engineering or cost saving opportunities.
- Understand the commercial fundamentals of a project.
- Work with the tendering, engineering, project and commercial teams in order to prepare tender documents and appropriate value propositions to clients.
- Liaise and coordinate with sub-contractors and sub-consultants on technical and commercial issues in preparation of an offering for a client.
- Actively engage with the supply chain in order to establish the most cost effective and innovate solutions in order to offer to the client, including reviewing offerings from suppliers to ensure technical compliance.
- Attend and lead tender handover meetings.
- Review and understand project design specifications, identifying and quantifying associated project risks.
- Manage the interface with the client during the tender and post-tender stage, including the clarification process.
- Compilation and assessment of technical submittals and the tender return.
- Work closely with the Tendering Engineer UK on the commercial proposals.
- Ensure the correct application and compliance with relevant business procedures including Health and Safety; highlighting any non-compliance observed.
Person Specification
- A minimum of 5 years experience or demonstrable competence gain in a related or relevant Transmission & Distribution field.
- Fluent in Germany.
- Electrical Engineering Degree or suitable relevant experience in the industry.
- Professional acumen
- Strong IT skills
- Experience at managing several tenders covering multiple disciplines at once.
- A strong communicator with excellent verbal and writing proficiency.
- Able to work on own initiative and work as part of a team.
- Flexible to travel.
