Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact

 

  • Provide advice and draft contract responses to bid proposals.
  • Fully participate in client contract/RFP negotiations, agreement drafting and be a key resource for commercial issues.
  • Review and drafting of confidentiality agreements, teaming agreements, marketing & sales agreements & others.
  • Day-to-day drafting of contract clauses etc.
  • Drafting and negotiating master agreements with support from senior counsel.
  • Advise on contract interpretation including financial components i.e. rate tables & billing questions.
  • Identify and help manage any conflict of interest issues
  • Review and update standard documentation to reflect best practices.
  • Work with and support Purchasing with their terms and conditions as required.
  • Help arrange Letters of Credit to act for Bid and performance bonds or guarantees in support of contracts. 
  • Liaise with Kinectrics Insurance Specialist/Insurance Broker to request certificates for Vendor Qualifications, Purchase Order requirements, etc.
  • Participate in ISO audits and interviews. Review or recommend changes to the ISO quality forms and procedures, as may be applicable to the dept.
  • Support and training for Contracts Clerk as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

 

What You Need to Succeed

 

  • Requires an undergraduate degree in an appropriate discipline (Business Administration, Commerce, etc.).
  • A minimum of 3 years of contracts experience in a fast paced technical/professional services environment.
  • Strong organization, and execution skills with extreme attention to detail.
  • A clear communicator, demonstrating very strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to develop strong working relationships and to effectively interface with all levels of management, operational staff, customers and external vendors.
  • Strong work ethic and time management skills with an ability to achieve results under multiple conflicting priorities and time pressures.
  • Dedicated team-player who is highly motivated and can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a confidential capacity and understand the sensitivity of a variety of business documentation.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office suite (particularly in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

 

This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.
