Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact:
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who delivers high quality work and thrives in a dynamic environment. As a Financial Specialist, you will perform general accounting and administration activities related to the international and Canadian corporate Accounts Payable Invoicing & supplier support, assist with Corporate Credit Card Program, and support inter-company related activities between the various corporation. This position includes ensuring Accounts Payable Invoices are processed in a timely matter, facilitating resolution of supplier invoicing issues, reducing accounts payable delinquencies, assisting with the Corporate Credit Card program, and to ensure the Inter-Company weekly and monthly processing and reconciliation are completed. This position will also provide improvements and escalate recommendation based on supplier system requirements.
- Daily ensure the supplier Invoices are processed into SAP and reconciled.
- Regular review and reconciliation of Supplier accounts to ensure accurate account balances.
- Review and research supplier disputes and invoicing issues in a timely matter to resolve delays in receiving services.
- Support the Account Managers and Project Leaders with Supplier requirements.
- Ensures compliance with company accounts payable invoice and payment policies and Corporate Credit Card Policy
- Project the highest level of professionalism and courtesy towards supplier and internal/external stakeholders
- Regular review and reconciliation of inter-company transaction between corporations to ensure accurate account balances.
- Coordinate the Kinectrics vehicle license plate and CVOR renewals.
- Maintain and support the Concur Corporate Credit Card Program.
- Prepare and input data to appropriate business and accounting systems.
- Process financial transactions, checking for accuracy and making the necessary corrections.
- Process updates to data bases; perform clerical duties; perform calculations and update statistical spreadsheets and databases.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Account Analysis
- Provide reports to stakeholders as assigned
- Assist in month end close process and other projects assigned.
- Backup other finance team members as needed for central services (Accounts Receivable Invoicing, Collections, Banking Reconciliation, Salary processing etc.).
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Completion of a three-year community college program in accounting or equivalent training and experience
- Knowledge of Concur expense reporting system
- Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures and Canadian GAAP
- Demonstrated knowledge of SAP FICO module.
- Demonstrated capability of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, etc.
- High level of organizational skills
- Good customer service skills and ability to deal with internal and external contacts
- Good written and verbal communication skills required
- A period of at least 3 years in an accounting environment is considered necessary and preferred enrollment in the CPA program
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to exercise discretion and judgment in resolving problems
