The Opportunity

Reports to: will be assigned to HVST, GGS, LAM based on assignments
Hours per week: 40 (overtime, outdoor work and shift work may be required)

Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact
- Prepare, process, and provide services to effectively support TDT Project & Facilities upgrades at the Kipling laboratories & outdoor storage.
- Conform to all Kinectrics safety, quality, ethical, environmental and security policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Respond to inquiries that involve forklift capabilities, site maintenance, moving skids/packages from one area to another, moving equipment.
- Emergency response and cleanup after incidents that potentially or do result in property damage.
- Coordinate and perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks for the TDT at Kipling site.
. - Support outdoor storage yard and test area cleanup
- Responsible for general office housekeeping and cleaning needs.
- Perform shipping, receiving, and incoming goods inspection
- Perform small repair jobs as required
- Coordinate and perform assigned preventative maintenance of equipment. Maintain equipment through routine inspections and repairs.
- Weed, wildlife and pest control around site.
- Provide project support, as required.
- Operate authorized motorized equipment and use hand tools related to the job safely.
- Perform other duties as required.
What You Need to Succeed
- Completion of High School or equivalent. Any other certificates or accreditations will be seen as an asset.
- Holds forklift operating certificate with experience moving heavy equipment/loads, and operating skid steers.
- Requires Class G license
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Experience with electrical testing practices, procedures and safety standards is an asset.
- Ability to move/lift/rearrange heavy items up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working on ladders
- Ability to clean up spills (e.g. oil) and understanding basic environmental management practices
- Experience operating hand tools
- Experience with industrial workplace organization and safety standards
- Ability to work in a fast paced and physically demanding environment including standing for extended period, crouching, kneeling etc.
- Ability to work independently or effectively as part of a team, as required by the assigned tasks.
- Self-motivated, positive, enthusiastic, proactive, reliable and ambitious.
- Must have strong prioritizing and time management skills with a strong work ethic.
- Pride in work, cleanliness and strong organizational skills.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Prepared to work flexible hours from time to time.
- Experience with workplace organization and safety standards is preferred.
This role may require the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.
