Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact
- Prepare, process and provide services to effectively support Shipping/Receiving function at Kipling site.
- Respond to customer inquiries (such as status of shipments and tracking # details), maintain good customer relations and solve associated problems.
- Receiving: Log and track material that is received, record, label and deliver to end user at Kinectrics.
- Accept and unload incoming shipments from carriers
- Verify shipment contents against packing slips, and system records
- Inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report issues immediately
- Link packing slip to appropriate PO/user and determine where it belongs, update excel sheet and send to all Kinectrics staff who received packages or deliveries.
- Label, tag, and store products in designated warehouse locations until delivery of shipment.
- Accurately record received shipment on the Excel spreadsheet
- Shipping: Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to company standards and shipping requirements.
- Verify order accuracy (items, quantities, documentation) prior to shipment
- Operations to generate shipping documentation and shipping to ensure (bills of lading, packing slips, labels)
- Coordinate with carriers (couriers, freight companies) for timely pickups
- Ensure shipments comply with customer/supplier requirements and transportation regulations
- Track shipments and provide status updates when required
- Shipping: Arrange for appropriate shipping with CANPAR for Ontario-based shipments. Weigh package, place sticker, etc., as required.
- Warehouse Organization & Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) in compliance with safety standards
- Follow all health and safety policies, including proper use of PPE
- Ensure safe handling and storage of materials, including hazardous goods as per company policy.
- Distribute packages, as required, to appropriate areas for further processing in an organized manner.
- Maintain accurate shipping documentation, receiving paperwork, and log to the excel spreadsheet.
- Rubber Deliveries: delivery of gloves to KR and KL, as required.
- Respond to service calls: forklift needed, deliveries from one location to another, skids from one area to another, moving boxes
- Operate motorized equipment and use hand tools related to the job.
- Provide clerical support and respond to routine client inquiries.
- Responsible for general office housekeeping and cleaning needs.
- Coordinate and manage preventative maintenance of equipment. Maintain equipment through routine inspections and repairs
- Act as a pair of extra hands to provide project support, as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Perform other duties as required.
What You Need to Succeed
- Completion of High School (Grade 12) or equivalent
- Holds forklift operating certificate with experience moving heavy equipment and loads,
- Demonstrated customer focused approach to work
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment including standing for extended period, crouching, kneeling etc. Ability to move/lift/rearrange heavy items up to 50 lbs.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Computer skills, comfortable with Microsoft Office software and ERP System
- Prepared to work flexible hours from time to time - Must be able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
- Must have strong time management skills
- Experience with safety standards related to shipping and receiving is preferred.
This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.
