Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact

 

Kinectrics is seeking a Project Manager with proven experience delivering IT projects to support internal business operations. This role is responsible for the on-time and on-budget delivery of complex IT initiatives, including the implementation of enterprise applications, infrastructure solutions, digital platforms, and process improvements. Projects typically involve collaboration across multiple internal teams and external vendors to translate business needs into effective and reliable IT solutions.

 

  • Apply established project management practices to ensure IT projects are planned, executed, monitored, and closed effectively, including management of scope, schedule, cost, quality, risks, communications, resources, vendors, and change.
  • Manage medium to large IT projects with moderate to high complexity and varying duration, supporting a range of technical and business objectives across the organization.
  • Work closely with internal business users and stakeholders to understand requirements, manage expectations, and ensure delivered solutions meet operational needs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional project teams, including IT infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, data, procurement, and external service providers.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, escalating as appropriate and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Provide accurate and timely project status updates, reports, and documentation to IT management, project team members, and business stakeholders.
  • Support the development and implementation of IT solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, security, and user experience.
  • Manage vendor and supplier performance, including contracts, deliverables, timelines, and service levels.
  • Ensure projects have defined schedules and budgets, including milestones, dependencies, resource allocations, and progress tracking (e.g., earned value or similar measures, where applicable).
  • Maintain project documentation and historical data to support reporting, audits, and future planning.
  • Support the preparation of business cases, project charters, estimates, and implementation plans.
  • Establish and maintain Project Execution Plans outlining roles, responsibilities, governance, and communication approaches.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of IT project management processes, tools, and standards.
  • Provide guidance and coordination support to IT team members as required.

What You Need to Succeed

 

  • University degree in information technology, business, science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience managing IT or technology-related projects with demonstrated understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile, hybrid).
  • Experience delivering projects involving enterprise systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, or digital solutions is preferred.
  • Experience managing external vendors, consultants, and service providers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical business users.
  • Ability to understand business processes and technical concepts quickly, with a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ability to independently prepare and present project-related information to diverse internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, issue resolution, and change management skills.
  • High level of personal accountability, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of project and financial management tools (e.g., SAP or similar ERP systems, project scheduling tools, Microsoft Office and collaboration platforms).
  • Project management certification such as CAPM or PMP.
  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance.

 

This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.
