Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact

  • Perform inspections and verification activities on incoming materials, components, and equipment to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, purchase orders, and quality standards. 
  • Review and validate supplier documentation, certifications, test reports, and material traceability records for completeness and accuracy. 
  • Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials or discrepancies in accordance with company quality procedures. 
  • Prepare inspection reports, receiving records, and non-conformance documentation while maintaining accurate and traceable quality records. 
  • Coordinate with procurement, engineering, warehouse, suppliers, and quality teams to resolve material quality issues and discrepancies. 
  • Ensure incoming materials are properly labeled, stored, segregated, and controlled in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. 
  • Use precision measuring instruments, inspection tools, and testing equipment to perform dimensional and visual inspections as required. 
  • Support supplier quality initiatives and participate in investigations, corrective actions, and root cause analysis activities. 
  • Maintain compliance with quality management systems, regulatory standards, and applicable codes and specifications. 
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing inspection records and supporting documentation. 
  • Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with health and safety requirements. 
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving inspection processes, supplier quality, and operational efficiency. 
  • Communicate inspection results and quality concerns effectively to internal stakeholders and suppliers. 
  • Ensure all inspection activities are completed in a timely manner to support operational and project schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear QA standards including CSA N286, N299.1, ISO 9001, ASME NQA-1 and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, as applicable

 

What You Need to Succeed

  • Completion of High School plus additional related courses or work
  • Demonstrated experience performing incoming inspections on materials, components, or equipment in accordance with technical specifications, drawings, codes, and quality standards. 
  • Strong knowledge of quality control and inspection processes, including material verification, traceability, and non-conformance reporting. 
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, procedures, and inspection requirements accurately. 
  • Experience reviewing supplier documentation, material certifications, test reports, and quality records for completeness and compliance. 
  • Proficiency in the use of measuring instruments and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and related equipment. 
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies, defects, and non-conforming materials effectively. 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to support investigations, corrective actions, and root cause analysis activities. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with suppliers, warehouse personnel, procurement, engineering, and quality teams. 
  • Experience maintaining accurate inspection records, reports, and documentation in accordance with quality management system requirements. 
  • Knowledge of applicable quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety procedures relevant to inspection and material handling activities. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience using ERP, inventory, or quality management systems. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet operational deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Commitment to workplace safety, continuous improvement, and maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism. 

 

 

This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.
