Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact

 

  • Responsible for initial analysis and management of security alerts from SIEM, phishing reports from staff, as well as reports from other alert-generating sources. Escalation of significant true-positive security issues and participation in incident response processes.
  • Support Vulnerability Management processes by working with owners of vulnerable systems to help them understand vulnerabilities, recommend remediation or mitigation strategies, and validate remediation where possible.
  • Assist in development and delivery of corporate training on cyber security, security policies and awareness campaigns.
  • Day-to-day administrative tasks on:
    • Firewalls: Rule additions, troubleshooting blocked or impeded traffic flows, etc.
    • Layer 1/2/3 network equipment: Network segmentation work, troubleshooting of connectivity and authentication issues, etc.
    • Active Directory/EntraID: Basic user management functions such as security groups, troubleshooting of security-related Group Policy application to endpoints or users.
    • Windows/Linux servers: Basic maintenance and configuration of server platforms that manage
  • Proactive escalation of challenging technical issues to vendors and other external resources.
  • Coordination of network buildouts: basic network design, liaising with cable installers & internal project managers.
  • Create and maintain design and process documentation, topologies, and implementation of solutions and technologies in use by Kinectrics.
  • Initiation and ownership of Change Requests to (re)configure, update, and otherwise maintain network equipment such as firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and other networking/security infrastructure.
  • Work collaboratively with peers to interface with third party security vendors to assess weaknesses, identify solutions, perform product evaluations, and provide recommendations to improve and maintain a strong cyber security posture and network operations.
  • Resolution of Network and Security tickets.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with Kinectrics policies and procedures.
  • Some travel may be required to other corporate offices.
  • Perform other duties/tasks/projects as required.

 

What You Need to Succeed

 

  • College or University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
  • Networking or Security certifications are an asset.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in IT infrastructure administration with proven experience in network administration.
  • Strong understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, Certificates & Public Key Cryptography, and other foundational network and encryption protocols/technology.
  • Working experience of a variety of security technologies in areas of: Identity & Endpoint Protection, Identity & Access Management (IAM), SIEM, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Network Access Control (NAC).
  • Experience in PowerShell or other Scripting, Active Directory administration, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and Azure.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and judgement in resolving problems.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
