Accountabilities:  How you will make an impact

  • Reporting to the Circumferential Wet Scrape Tool (CWEST) Section Manger, you will manage the day-to-day execution of various design, maintenance, and field execution projects.
  • Monitor and report out on the cost and schedule adherence, including the preparation of various internal and external status reports, schedules, and plans.
  • Provide direction to the Team Lead, Procurement Lead, and Technical Engineering Lead to drive project execution activities on time and on schedule.
  • Facilitate internal and client discussions to identify and resolve, or escalate when warranted, issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the non-conformance reporting process, including raising and dispositioning non-conformance reports and corrective action requests.
  • Oversee maintenance and testing activities and provide observation and coaching to staff.
  • Ensure ongoing positive customer relationship and satisfaction through proactive engagement and timely communication with the client through robust project controls
  • Manage large scale (>1M$) projects, understanding competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Assist in actively marketing and selling CWEST services to win new revenue streams from existing and potentially new customers.
  • Prepare quotations, change orders, and large complex proposals.
  • Assist in the negotiation and administration of contracts, including estimates of costs, schedule, and resources required. 
  • Support CWEST field deployment as an on-shift supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

What you need to succeed

Essential Competencies:

  • Strong customer orientation and commitment to Kinectrics and Business Unit goals.
  • Demonstrated skill in contract management and administration with positive track record of completing projects on budget and schedule in terms of client satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated high level of initiative to propose and implement new ideas.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary team situations with a variety of partners and diverse issues and roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects of varying complexity and technical disciplines.
  • Strong oral and written communications, with ability to effectively communicate complex technical issues
  • Proven skills with a variety of software programs including MS Office, and MS Project or P6.

 

Essential Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:

  • A four-year university education in engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management or in a technical role with cost and schedule management responsibilities
  • Experience or competency in project financial management, including experience with SAP
  • Experience in managing design and build projects is considered an asset
  • Experience with interfacing with clients and managing client relationships.
  • Practical experience in the design and development of sophisticated equipment and instrumentation for testing would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of nuclear quality program and testing requirements
  • Knowledge of nuclear quality assurance standards
  • Strong understanding and commitment to HU principles with preference to nuclear station experience in HU culture preferred.
  • Must have excellent communications, technical report writing and oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to successfully obtain and maintain valid nuclear site security clearance(s)
