Salary Range: $ 85,038.15

General Overview

 

The RMCS Field Testing Technician will provide technical specialist support for the RMCS Project Consulting team with specialized field testing. Using your practical experience work with a team dedicated to safely performing technical field work at client sites in Canada. Support RMCS Project scientists and engineers with new equipment design, building and testing. The technical areas are varied and driven by client needs but can include radioactive and tritium processes, emissions testing, and radiological sampling and measurement.

 

Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact

 

  • Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with Kinectrics policies and procedures.
  • Perform operations in either the laboratory or at client sites under guidance from experienced staff.
  • Work the majority of the time as a field technician and perform testing as part of an experienced team at client sites. Site work often requires extended periods of time away from home.
  • Participate in testing, investigations, and technical studies for customers in multiple areas.
  • Work as a laboratory technician building equipment and conducting tests.
  • Prepare routine technical reports.
  • Prepare, review, and update Technical Work Instructions.
  • Maintain quality records.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by following good safety and quality practices in all aspects of work performed.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

What You Need to Succeed

 

  • Minimum of a completed two (2) year college or university program in chemical technology or related area.
  • Experience in applying chemistry and testing methods would be an asset.
  • A demonstrated ability with hands-on tools, builds, and problem-solving.
  • Must be willing to travel for extended periods.
  • A demonstrated ability to work in a variety of technical areas and work independently or in a team environment.
  • Must have a strong attention to details and a quality focus.
  • Basic Microsoft Office computer skills.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • An understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and safety best practices.
  • Knowledge of radiological safety would be an asset.

 

This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.
