- Provide hands-on technical support for investigative studies, routine testing campaigns, and customer-driven projects.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to translate experimental concepts into functional lab or field setups.
- Design and build custom systems that may involve components related to chemical processes, fluid flow/pumps, gas handling, electrical connections, and measurement/instrumentation.
- Assemble and troubleshoot experimental systems, including mechanical components, tubing, instrumentation, and fittings.
- Design and draft 2D CAD drawings for components and assemblies suitable for fabrication.
- Perform small-scale electrical tasks such as wiring sensors or components, terminating connectors, or completing basic soldering work.
- Operate and oversee laboratory equipment and test systems with a high degree of safety, accuracy, and procedural compliance.
- Perform routine laboratory analyses and testing in accordance with established procedures, including accurate recording and documentation of results.
- Support the design and construction of high-vacuum systems, including the use of turbomolecular pumps and VCR fittings.
- Work with compressed gas systems, including regulator and flow path setup, leak checking, and instrumentation.
- Assist with maintaining laboratory equipment and infrastructure, making practical, hands-on improvements where needed.
- Maintain technical documentation and quality records, and contribute to the development of work procedures.
