About the Position

• Department: Medical Isotopes (ISOE)
• Location: 800 Kipling Avenue, Toronto, ON - On-site
• Term Length: 4, 8, 12, 16 months
• Year of Study: 2nd or 3rd year
• Salary: The hourly rate for this position is $24.44-$28.11 per hour. Please note, the salary information provided is intended to be used as a guideline. Final rate offered will vary upon candidate’s prior co-op/work experience, years of study completed, relevant skills, as well as internal equity considerations.

How You Will Make an Impact

This opportunity involves responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Perform work as directed by supervisors
• Work with the technical lead to prepare isotope enrichment production facility and setup equipment
• Support execution of test plans and analysis of data
• Support test report writing
• Follow procedures diligently
• Meet safety and quality requirements

What You Need to Succeed

• Currently enrolled full-time in a post-secondary Engineering, Engineering Physics, or Physics program requiring a co-op placement
• Detail-orientated, proactive approach, and have good organizational and planning skills
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools
• Strong interpersonal skills in order to work co-operatively with a variety of staff or clients
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team situation
• Familiarity with typical engineering disciplines and documentation
• Aptitude in working with mechanical and electrical systems and parts
• Knowledge of optical and laser systems is an asset
• Excellent oral and written communications
• High level of initiative
• Previous theoretical and/or laboratory chemistry, chemical engineering, physics experience is an asset.
• Strong excel skills and programming knowledge (Excel macros, SQL, etc.) would be an asset
• Familiarity with Labview, Comsol, Phython, and/or other data acquisition programs is an asset
• Work safely and independently (after initial training period)
