Overview
Kinectrics is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Stable Isotope Enrichment development team, where new and exciting isotope enrichment technologies are being conceived, designed, and transitioned toward commercial deployment. In this role, you will lead the electrical design, documentation, and integration for innovative isotope separation systems, collaborating closely with controls, mechanical, physics, and operations experts. The position offers a rare opportunity to contribute hands‑on to first‑of‑a‑kind systems, from early technology development through build, troubleshooting, and commissioning, in support of a rapidly growing medical isotopes program with global impact.

Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact
- Plan, lead and/or conduct electrical design work on multi-disciplinary projects and provide direction to the development of conceptual/detailed equipment designs as they progress through a structured design process.
- Provide a high level of expertise in one or more areas, including industrial electrical design (e.g., control panel and wiring/harness design), instrumentation interfaces, and the assessment/design/specification of electrical equipment and components.
- Perform condition and performance assessments of the electrical aspects of equipment. Develop life cycle plans, including inspection and test programs.
- Perform engineering change design and analysis following established change control procedures.
- Interface with vendors/construction/procurement partners and stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the design project (i.e., from preliminary and conceptual engineering to detailed design, implementation, and close-out) to provide practical and effective solutions as per requirements.
- Provide technical oversight and mentoring of more junior members of the engineering team.
- Contribute to, and manage, electrical integration activities, including panel/wiring implementation and in-field troubleshooting as required.
- Provide field support to multi-disciplined facility design modifications.
- Conduct technical assessments and emergent troubleshooting/engineering to support projects and operating unit (capital) projects.

What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering (or related: Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Engineering Physics).
- Minimum of 8 years of electrical engineering design experience.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical design: control panel design/build support, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, terminal plans, cable schedules, labeling, BOMs, redlines, as-builts, and documentation packages.
- Hands-on support for panel shop builds and field activities: wiring verification, troubleshooting, FAT/SAT, commissioning support.
- Experience with wiring harness / cable assembly design: pinouts, routing, connector selection, shielding/grounding, strain relief, build and test documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to reverse engineer legacy/undocumented industrial electrical systems and produce as-built drawings.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical (or at least one of AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN).
- Safety systems experience (safety relays, safety PLC; familiarity with SIL/PL concepts).
- Familiarity with industrial networks/protocols (e.g., EtherCAT, Modbus TCP/RTU, CAN, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET).
- EMC/EMI mitigation experience (shielding, grounding, filtering, cable segregation, noise troubleshooting).
- Experience specifying, integrating, and troubleshooting common industrial electrical equipment, including industrial power supplies, motors/motor assemblies, vacuum pumps, valves/actuators, sensors/transmitters, and related field devices.
- Working knowledge of controls integration: PLC I/O, instrumentation interfaces, interlocks, motor control, and safety circuits.
- Knowledge of analog/digital circuit design for industrial interfacing (signal conditioning, isolation, sensor/transducer interfacing).
- Demonstrated electro-mechanical integration experience (enclosure/panel packaging, service access, heat/ventilation, vibration).
- In depth knowledge and experience of use of appropriate codes and standards.
- Be familiar with rigorous engineering change control processes and application of QA programs
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and have demonstrated a high commitment to quality
- A Professional Engineer of Ontario (PEO), or eligible for PEO status, with a passion for engineering
- Excellent time management skills and demonstrated capability to interface effectively with and gain the trust of customers and internal stakeholders.

This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.
