General Overview

Perform lab and field tests using predominantly standard techniques and processes. Prepare straightforward technical reports and designs.  Respond to customer inquiries, maintain good customer relations and solve problems generally of a routine nature. The assignment is within the Nuclear Equipment Solutions department and is predominantly in the field of electrical testing and inspections.

 

Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact

 

  • Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with Kinectrics policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine investigations and technical studies for customers in one or more disciplines such as electrical and I&C.
  • Perform inspection of product and document on inspection forms, and preparation of shipments.
  • Perform lab and field tests using predominantly standard techniques; provide support in laboratory or field environments by conducting experiments, conducting tests or servicing equipment; quality control.
  • Assembling products, including soldering, wiring and mechanical assembly.
  • Testing products to our approved procedures, using a variety of measurement and test equipment, including, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems, calipers, etc.
  • Complete required paperwork to support our QA program, including incoming inspections, non-conformance reports, components substitution forms, inspection and test plans and test results.
  • Participate in the analysis of test results and data by use of standard software packages.
  • Write reports of a predominantly routine nature, and preparation of records (descriptions of test methods, observations, and test data).
  • Respond to customer inquiries, maintain good customer relations and solve problems.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by following good quality and safety practices in all aspects of the work performed.
  • Perform clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems
  • Perform routine processes and duties such as shipping, receiving, inventory control, housekeeping, etc.
  • Frequent travel to and work at customer sites in Canada and on occasion internationally
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

 

What You Need to Succeed

 

  • Completion of Secondary School in technical studies or equivalent
  • Up to 5 years related experience or equivalent advanced education in field of Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or similar.
  • Experience using modern test equipment and instrumentation
  • Experience using modern electronic test equipment and instrumentation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical principles
  • Experience in troubleshooting electrical/electronic devices, testing
  • Good computer skills for data acquisition and analysis
  • Good knowledge of QA principles and safety practices
  • High level of initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be granted nuclear site security clearance
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills to work co-operatively with staff & clients.
